This group actually does study and live by the entire Bible. This is the main difference between this group and nominal Christianity or Judaism. They do accept Jesus / Yeshua as the Messiah and thus could be labeled "Christian", but 'God the Father' is not really part of nominal Christianity. They keep the weekly Sabbath (Saturday) and the Festivals listed in Leviticus 23, shunning the Christian holidays of Christmas & Easter as watered down man made pagan rites, along with weekly Sunday services and other "Christian" holidays.
Some would lump this small organization in with Messianic Jewish groups - but this really does not fit. Again, 'God the Father' only goes by Biblical teachings. Many Messianic congregations obey much of the Jewish Talmud - including the wearing of Kippahs, etc. Church of God the Father rejects the Talmud as man made teachings that violate Deuteronomy 4:2, Deuteronomy 12:32 and Proverbs 30:6. Many Messianic groups choose to emulate Jewish dress and other aspects of life they were not brought up in - which 'God the Father' generally does not practice. While 'God the Father' is a Torah Observant group, they are not Jews. We encourage all to live in the manner they are accustomed to living – only now in obedience to Gods Word. The service or assembly practiced does have similarities to Judaism including songs, prayers, Bible readings, blessings and teachings. These are an effort to strive to approach the 'divine service' as practiced by Gods people throughout Biblical history.
The approach that 'God the Father' takes to scripture is very similar to that of the Karaite Jews - allowing individuals to study scriptures themselves and grow in understanding. This is evident in the fact that while most go by the Biblically 'Observed' calendar to determine the festival dates of Leviticus 23 - others choose to go by the calculated Rabbinical Jewish calendar. Some just keep the weekly Sabbath, but are still growing in understanding of the annual Biblical festivals. Some members choose to wear the Biblically instructed Tzit-zit (tassels) on modern 'Western' outer garments - while other members believe this instruction is only applicable to '4 cornered' garments - and choose not to wear tassels on their modern 'Western' outer garments that do not have 4 distinct corners.
While there are similarities between this group and the Karaite Jews - they are not Karaite Jews. The 'God the Father' organization accepts Jesus / Yeshua as the Messiah. The Karaites are Jews and their understanding is that the Messiah has not yet come. 'God the Father' has no problem burning fire on the Sabbath - as this Biblical instruction is viewed through the Biblical context it was introduced - in the work of building the Tabernacle in the wilderness - including the fires needed for the metal work that went into that project. Many Karaite Jews, in striving to observe this instruction, do not burn or ignite any fires at all on the weekly Sabbath.
'God the Father' members are free to fellowship, teach and visit with any groups or individuals from any organization. Anyone from any other group or religious affiliation may attend Sabbath or Festival services or Bible studies with 'God the Father'. People that would deliberately and maliciously interrupt any meeting of 'God the Father' would be asked to leave that function. This fact sets 'God the Father' apart from former Worldwide Church of God splinter churches. Some of those organizations follow a tradition of being closed door or secretive. All 'God the Father' meetings are open to the public. Any individual member of 'God the Father' who knowingly and purposely chooses to practice a lifestyle in opposition of Gods Biblical instructions - must leave all 'God the Father' group activities while they remain practicing sin. Such individuals are never to be shunned – but helped and encouraged on an individual basis by any individual members in all ways possible. All will be judged by the Messiah Yeshua / Jesus. Leaders, speakers and ministers are only jobs of service, not law enforcement.
